Project Reveal: Cozy Family Home
We are thrilled to invite you inside this transformation! Our clients came to us with the desire to update their entire home, including the kitchen, living room, bedrooms, bathrooms and home office. They wanted to go from dark and out-dated to something fresh and inviting. We took this challenge head on and created a space that is both welcoming and comfortable while also being stylishly modern.
We worked with an architect to redefine the space and create an open, yet cozy setting for a family to enjoy. The kitchen was reorientated to benefit from more natural light and offer ample seating. We used a deep wood finish on the large island to give the feel of a furniture piece, providing a grounding element against the white cabinetry. The stools are upholstered in a performance fabric for easy clean up!
The living room was updated with green paint to accent the fireplace and set a color palette for the entire home. We used leather chairs, a wool rug and metal coffee table – all hard wearing, yet beautiful, furnishings to hold up for a busy family.
We introduced a mix of neutrals, rich wood tones and green accents in the primary bedroom to create a sense of serenity and warmth. The subtle textures on the bed and armchair add interest without overpowering the space.
The home office features a woodland wallpaper that reflects the surrounding trees inside the house. This is juxtaposed with a contemporary desk and dark velvet curtains to help make the space cozy and sophisticated.
One of our favorite rooms in the house was a bathroom that we covered in bold green tile. It made for the perfect accent against the white vanity and added an element of fun for kids and guests who use the space.
